our story
We are a family with Bolivian roots based in Augsburg, Germany, who work with Andean artisans who use local and natural materials to create unique garments steeped in tradition.
Our collaboration with artisans and love for handmade products were inherited from our parents and grandparents.
As early as 1975, our family began importing South American handicrafts to Cologne, Germany as the "Pachamama Store". Later, in 2010, "Alpaca & More" opened in Switzerland and sold Bolivian products, mainly alpaca clothing, at the winter and Christmas markets. Due to the pandemic the business with markets had to be closed, then we decided to take over the family business to devote ourselves to online sales in Europe and therefore we open our own online shop in 2021 with headquarters in Germany.
Our business specializes in weaving alpaca wool, which is the main source of income for many Bolivian families and is also a traditional craft.
Alpaca wool and textiles, the "Gold of the Andes"
Alpaca wool has always been used by the Andean people because it has wonderful properties: it is soft to the touch, hypoallergenic, waterproof and flame retardant. These and many other reasons make alpaca clothing an alluring, elegant and durable product that when worn gives a special feeling of being integrated with nature, because it is nature-friendly clothing that brings well-being to producers and consumers.
The "Gold of the Andes", once reserved only for the Inca kings, is now available at affordable prices. Invest in quality.
Textiles stand for stories, they represent experiences, they say something; and when you buy a textile, you buy a message that not only conveys people's affection but also tells their story.
